Playbook shows more apps in storage memory than you have installed or can see on your app menu drawer

1. First count the apps installed

2. Go to settings and in General check hardware

3. It will show you have around 40 more apps then you counted!!


Second Trick! (for this to work you must have an android app like pulse or taptu installed)

1. Go to File Manager

2. Go to Pictures

3. Find thousands of pictures that you never downloaded or expect to find


FYI: Pulse and Taptu do not cache pics or full articles.

I see your point. Wipe your PB and see how many apps it shows after the wipe, then install your apps back and see what it says then.

Album artwork that does not show in the Pictures app can also be seen this way. Not much different from any OS really...

no I am not talking about album artwork. You see, Pulse and Tatpu are not supposed to cache pictures, but they are doing so with the playbook. Which adds 1000s of unnecessary pictures.

I have an android tablet and I can confirm they dont do that.

I counted all of my apps and I got a number 8 higher than what the application count in the options menu showed.

Yes I am under the illusion this forum is owned by Blackberry. Lol I am a developer and I have had more interactions with blackberry than you have.

I am helping you guys realize these problems as OEM's dont fix things easily unless its a major issue and have been contacted by many users.

Go ahead and check how many pics you have.. I have 6000 pics that I obviously never installed.

To send an email with an attachment, I need to go over 6000 damn pics from file manager, my playbook stalls and I give up.
