My PB is password locked all the time, but sometimes it can be quite frustrating.. Is there anyway to put the PB into standby, and after a certain interval the password must be put in? Just like how the phones do it?

My phone has always been because I have a friend that likes to post he rules on peoples facebooks but my PB hasn't been. I might start doing that though when I'm in school.

There's no way to do that right now as they (inappropriately) coupled standby together with the password feature. There's hope this will be improved soon with an explicit Lock feature so you can choose to lock it, or just do standby if that's all you wanted.

I live alone; if someone has their hands on my PB, I have bigger things to worry about besides whether or not the device is password protected.

I have passwords on both my BB & PB. I find people at work love trying to take it and play around with it so it's handy to have the password to stop them.

Since I don't have personal info on it, its just the 9300, but 2.0 will change all that!

Yes, safer with a password if lost or stolen.

I do recall when going to Europe and being concerned about misplacing the phone and allowing my companions to use it for their email sessions as well as browsing. I did not place a password on the device because there was no way I could recover my data (music, travel docs, points-of-interest stuff, camera pictures, etc) if the password-wipe occurred since I did not have access to a computer. The phone remains unprotected but it is very small and fits easily in my pocket or a hiking pack. The pb is larger and does tend to get left in hotel/motel/hostel rooms. While I've protected the pb, I have the same concerns when away from computer support - if it gets wiped, I would have lost a ton of stuff but when left behind on a hike/etc, I want my data protected.

Yeah, it's under the security options. I have mine set to lock after 30 minutes.
