I usually stream a lot of videos on YouTube on my playbook. While on the browser, if the video is not in HD , the video loads up completely owing to broadband speed. This way it eats into my bandwidth even if stop watching the video mid way.

When using the youtube app, it picks up the highest resolution available for that video. In case it is of lower resolution like 360 or 480, even then it appears like video cursor is where I am streaming at that point in time. It appears like the video has not loaded fully.
If that's the case then it's a good thing because I won't lose bandwidth if I stop watching it midway.

But can someone confirm if that is what is happening in the app? Or is it loading it up fully too like the browser ?

Also, is there any way to make suggestions appear as we type in the youtube app like in the browser?
