Had my playbook awhile now. Boots up sometime in reverse color, other times if the screen times out it won't show any picture until multiple reboots or starts (5-8). Should I trash it??

I have one of these too, actually had two but thank God my granddaughter broke it. Never again will I purchase a BlackBerry product, they got me once, that was enough.

Don't blame the entire BlackBerry company just because you bought one of their crappiest products haha.

I wouldn't say crappy. More like not fully realized. I love mine for its limited use. Only want I have for it is I wish I could get Netflix on it. Then I would be able to ditch my tab 2. Before the suggestions come in, I tried flix, can't get it to work.

But yeah BlackBerry didn't fully utilize what they could have done with the PlayBook.

I bought four of them....still have two....the others got damaged and thrown away. The PlayBook is a very capable media machine and I use it as such....videos, music, Internet streaming, ...... I love controlling it with my Z30 and it does the job for me over, and over. If you're looking for a tablet that does everything....probably not your thing. if you want a great media device.....this thing rocks!!!!

BlackBerry Bridge allows you to use your handset as a remote for the tablet.

You had two, but they only got you once? Not bad...

Anyway, OP... why not sell it for parts. Screen may be good but not the motherboard, or vice versa. Battery still seems good as it will boot. Anyway, I would do a security wipe/reset before deciding on what to do with it... it might just help.

Blue Touchpad ($0.99) is a great app for this too. I use it with my Playbook and Kalemsoft Media Player to my HDTV.

Not if blackberry goes the android route and it offers a tablet version pushed to our Playbooks.

As that will never happen, then yes... yes you did waste your cash

Blue TouchPad works generically through Bluetooth. It can control various Bluetooth enabled devices such as computers, laptops, Android tablets and phones, and event other BB10 phones. BB Bridge can only be used with the Playbook.

Tools not toys, yeah? Now I feel more like a tool for buying into the BlackBerry hype and thinking they would provide business-class support for their first tablet.

My PB just sits around doing nothing, occasionally throwing up red blinking lights and asking for power, a bit like BlackBerry itself.

My PB's still get used nightly since I bought them brand new. I know that one of these days I may buy a newer tablet but maybe when and if my Passport dies or a tablet comes out that is similar to a BlackBerry O/S
