Got the Bridge software installed this am and used with AT&T 9800.
Saw issues getting intranet web sites.
    Calendar crashed.
    Then nothing worked.
    Rebooted 9800 and reconnected bridge.
Everything via bridge worked for about 5 min and then started locking up again.
Saw faint flashing red light in upper left corner. (I guess this is low battery now)
Put device down to do conference call. After call, device is dead.

I have it plugged into Playbook charger but there is no LED indicator that it is getting power. Plugged into 9800 and power does work.

Plugged in for 2 hours and nothing. Ticket opened with RIM.

    4pm update from RIM.
    1) There is no LED light indicating the playbook is charging.
    2) Confirmed the playbook power cable works with a BlackBerry device.
    3) If the battery is run all the way down, it is a known issue / long time to charge. Recommendation is to let it charge overnight and see if it will power up in the am.

5:30 Update from RIM. **** Device is working ******
    1) confirmed that I had let device upgrade to latest OS.
    2) Hold down power button for 15 seconds then let go.
    3) Wait 5 seconds
    4) Press power button and let go.
    5) Red LED lit up
    6) Playbook powered up and now shows it is charging.
The explanation was that a buffer was blocking the device from charging when you let the battery drain.

At this point, it might just be better to go back to the store where you bought it and exchange for a new one.

Thx for this useful information! It worked for me.
For no reason my PlayBook was dead and I am sure battery did not drain.
No way to charge it, no red LED.
I followed above steps and charging now, and working fine again.
    Thx!
