I've just noticed I have a dead pixel on my PB screen, just one. Should I contact RIM or is this "just one of those things"? The PB is just a few weeks old.

Yeah that's what I was nthinking. But aren't there so-called tolerance levels for dead pixels before a manufacturer has to take action?

    I'll contact them anyway.

It does not hurt to contact them, the worst they could tell you is to live with it...

A wee call to their helpline tomorrow then. And maybe they can register my PB for me while I'm on with them.

I think they are there 24/7 but I could be wrong.

Yes it's only a few weeks old and they will repair or replace it. That's what they do and you should have a fully operational device.

Is it dead or is it stuck. Dead usually shows bright white, but stuck is in one coloured. If it's stuck you could try the stuck pixel apps in app world to try and free it. Anyway if you call rim they'll talk you through some diagnostics.

Its dead (white). I called them yesterday and they were originally going to do a swap-out but when they realised I had a debit, not credit, card they wouldn't let me do that as they charge the full price (think 100/$160 more than current retail) of a replacement immediately. So theyre going to fed-ex a repair for me instead (which will more than likely be a refurb replacement anyway).
