Keep getting this as I try to update :-( Not many got theirs yet so I can't find anything related to that error :-( Co workers were able to update so it's not because it's before the release date. My wifi is working and the PlayBook shows itself connected to it.

    1. Doubt connecting it to DM would do any good. You can't do anything before you update. Pressing the cog wheel display a plaform version of... blank.

    2. You can't remove the battery (that I know of)

    3. Yes.

another forums person with a company playbook has the same issue. may just be updating the server with the non-internal build that "leaked" earlier

I think the demos were allowed do agreement and thus it went on fine. The 19th isn't here just yet guys, so the server will not be up.

No, a co-worker of mine updated his. Another aborted while downloading and is stuck like us. So at one point today, it was possible to update a PlayBook. Only around 3h30pm that it stopped...

That does seem by far the most likely reason for this to have happened.

No, that was only on Kevin's because his isn't a retail version. There is now a "power button" icon, though.

I can't get to that. After the Wifi setup screen I get the update screen, which fails.

    Hey guys,

one of Sylvain's collegue here and indeed one of us was able to download it completely and start using it.. I was 89% through when suddenly it gave me a "can't contact update server" error and the playbook tried installing the non-completed update.. which of course failed... since then I've been trying to reconnect from work or even home to the update server and it either gives me error (9) or error(3000).

Guess I missed my chance by 5 minutes this afternoon. hehe

After seeing it run on my collegues though.. really looking forward to using it. Smooth and fast!

    Cheers,

Click on settings button where it says Could not connect to the Update Server (9).
It will take you to the Wi-Fi screen. Click on disconnect for you Wi-Fi connection.
Reconnect to your Wi-Fi connection (it will ask for password again which sucks).
Once connected swipe to continue and the problem should go away

Sadly I wish.. but we've been doing that for the last hour... I know my WiFi works because while you're in the WiFi setup screen, to your lower left, there is a little gear sign which brings you to a diagnostic and information page.. which tells you your version, IP, WiFi SSID and also the PING function which shows you right there that everything works fine. I've tried 3 different SSID's and still no go.

You can not connect to DM and look for updates until the settings are complete.

This isnt an issue with wifi being set up correctly as mine shows connected to my personal router. I believe this is a server issue as well. I have also tried the disconnect/reconnect advice and it does not work for me either
