Let me start off by saying I'm no rocket scientist so what I'm writing could be completely impossible and I realize there's a very strong chance BlackBerry has already explored this possibility, but what if they didn't?

I feel like BlackBerry could somehow make the PlayBook run the Z10 (& Z30). What I mean by this is the smartphone screen appears on the PlayBook (wirelessly) and you can control your Z10 from the PB screen, gestures and all. I'm sure there are challenges like diff aspect ratios (Z10 is 15:9 and PlayBook is 16:9) but I still feel like it could and should have been done. I would assume 1G of RAM would be enough to do this because the smartphone is doing all the real work. And I know what happens when you assume..

Of course your phone would have to be near the PlayBook but IMO for Z10 & Z30 owners that would be way more awesome in some ways than the PlayBook running BB10 independently. Maybe they could even do this with the Q5 & Q10, having an always on screen keyboard. That way, you could make use of keyboard shortcuts. I thought of this when reading the comments from the mobile computing concept vid posted yesterday New video helps us further envision BlackBerry mobile computing | CrackBerry.com and seeing people once again mention BlackBerry basically abandoning the PlayBook.

    Yes, that could be done.
But there's no APIs for a third party dev to do it, so BlackBerry would need to either do it or open up some new APIs.

What BB can do, what BB aught to do and what BB does are three completely different things.

All good ideas: world peace, no hunger, a good dollar cigar, BlackBerry doing anything with the PlayBook. Might as well add free beer and no taxes to the list.

Don't think you will see the BlackBerry doing anything for the PlayBook - it's dead to them, other than providing the required warranty "support".

But I would have loved to see full Bridge Functions via Wi-Fi :\
