Is there anyway i can connect my Playbook to my laptop Or to the projector through HDMI cable. I have the mini HDMI cable. HELP please!
Most laptops don't have HDMI in, so let's rule that out. As for the projector, some have HDMI; for those that don't, you can buy an expensive signal converter or a cheap miniHDMI To VGA on amazon.
Hopefully you have a male/male cable with 2 different size connectors. The mini connector goes to your playbook, the bigger connector goes to your Projector, or whatever you want to connect to display the image and play sound.
If the cable you have is simply a mini hdmi adapter that is male/female(popular with video cards), then you'll connect the adapter to your PB, then run a regular male/male hdmi cable from the adapter to the device of your choice.
for micro-HDMI-to-VGA cables you can read there -I did it, works perfectly.
Most newer laptops do have HDMI connection. My question for this forum is what app program can one download so that the PB can do slideshows or powerpoint-like presentations in connection with a projector?
I use PB/Z10 with Projector through HDMI all the time. What is the issue here?
The PB comes with a PowerPoint viewer. Plug your HDMI in and get to it. :)
HDMI IN or out?
On a laptop it would be OUT. Other than specialized laptops for video editing, I've never seen a laptop with any kind of video IN.
Exactly, lol
That's the point I'm trying to make, look at my previous post.
Thanks guys.
A short cable length micro HDMI to VGA video converter cable is available for about $20 from Amazon. The audio part of the HDMI has to be handled separately unless you spend maybe $10 or so to get the audio signal cable included in the cable. Of course for ease in connection to various projectors at different distances you may need additional cables and connectors. May be best to get a short micro hdmi to standard size hdmi adapter for use with the playbook and stick with standard size adapters and cables after that. The standard HDMI to VGA cable is listed at ~$7. This cable however does not include a digital to analogue converter. but seems to work in some circumstances. If the projector uses analogue only back to the $20.
The OP doesn't seem to be around anymore to explain what he was trying to do. I would assume he is a student and wants to connect with the overhead projector in his classroom. I have noticed that at my kids' school, none of the overhead projectors have HDMI in. The PC in the classroom is connected via a VGA cable. My guess was he wanted to know if he could plug it into the PC to display on the overhead.
The answer of course is to use the proper adapter cable as shown in the post above.
