Can I stream a video file located on my SD of my Passport from the Playbook?

BB10 will outlast Android! Just you wait! Stage 1: denial

    No you cannot.

It actually is possible but it's really impractical. It uses the PlayBook's primitive Bluetooth connection. I believe it's done through a sideloaded version of ES File Explorer. It makes for a really slow/choppy/laggy experience. But it technically can be done.

I have never been able to get that to work. I am pretty sure that the bluetooth module in the Playbook is unable to allow anything but audio to stream (I could be wrong about this!). Using the Kalemsoft app, however, I have been able to "see" my Passport as a DLNA server but also, sadly, unable to actually stream a video from my Passport. It's been a while since I have tried this, maybe I will check it out again just for giggles.

I think BlackBerry intended it to be that way (only audio streaming) but ES bypasses it. Like I said, it's super choppy and crappy and it takes forever to even start.

Definitely just something for PlayBook nerds to mess around with. I like challenging myself to find ways to get things to work on PlayBook, no matter how tedious and impractical it may be haha.

    K. Works with pics, though, right? Thought video might work too.

No. The only thing you can do is attach a file (pic, doc,mp4 etc) to a BBM conversation and send or receive.

Wasn't there an app you could use over bridge, simply called File Browser in BlackBerry World?
