Just curious because the video quality on it seems a lot better than my actual Webcam, and I know I could record videos on the device itself, but I want to utilize it as a webcam so I can save videos to my computer's harddrive directly instead of on the Playbook, and also use it for live broadcasting. I know it can be used for live broadcasting purposes on its own as I have a Ustream where I have recorded some footage using the playbook and the Ustream web client.
All you need for that is the right software. I just don't think anyone coded such an app yet.
It should be doable, IIRC there was a similar app for symbian long back. One needs to install the app in PC and than in mobile. the name was mobiola
Just checked, it is still there, Mobiola� Web Camera: iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian smartphone as PC webcam!

ah, that's a shame. I really have had good success with the front camera on this, its one of the best I've seen on a tablet or smartphone, and its better than this Webcam I bought for $70.
I agree. Hope there is an app for this on BB10. No need ti waste a good ol front cam
