I'd like to sync the calendars on three Playbooks wirelessly without using desktop software and have the update automatically. Is this possible?
The PlayBook calendar app is a client, not a server, so you can't make them sync directly with each other.
If you set them all up with the same account, like a GMail account for instance, you would have a shared calendar.
Would that use the on-board calendar which I really like or the G-Mail calendar?
Also, can I link the Playbooks with the desktop program so that both receive updates from the desktop automatically?
Thanks!
The only thing you can sync with desktop manager is the media files (music, pictures, videos). It is not like the phones where you can sync your productivity apps.
To do what you want, you will need to use some sort of cloud based service that the PlayBook Supports. I have tried Office365 and with the combination of that and MS Office on the PC, everything can be synced to the PlayBook. It is not a free service, but you can demo it for a month or so to see if it works.
You will need the MS Office Professional version with Outlook on the PC order to sync your PC to Office365 and the PlayBooks. If you have no need to sync to a PC, you can just use Office365. I think you can import contacts and etc via text file into Office365. I am not sure which formats it will import. There is a FAQ on the Office365 web site.

Do other tablets — other than Apple — offer an easier calendar synchronization option?
I suppose all the other Tablets are Android based, which would be Google apps, so the same solution as the Playbook; a Cloud based service.
The Office365 or the Google solution is not difficult. You just need to weigh privacy versus free.
