Is is possible to to enable DNLA rendering with an app or is there something in the OS that has to be enabled for this to work? I haven't been able to figure out why the playbook can access smb shares, and DLNA servers with apps but the playbook can't be enabled to be a dlna server with an app.

If receiving works, shouldn't transmit also be enabled?

Probably but I don't think many people are developing for the playbook anymore.

KalemSoft Media Player works good. It can access all of the shares on my DLNA server.

thanks but I'm looking to go the other way. playbook to another device.

guess I have to give the ole convert app and fail test to see if I can get a chromecast app to work.

would be nice if there was a better solution
