Is it possible to restore camera software only in Playbook because I think somehow it got corrupted because it is not running.
I thinks it's baked in, a reload of the OS should do it.....Just make sure it FULLY charged.....
And you backup all of your stuff.......
Camera problems on the Playbook is a known issue, and is generally hardware, not software related. One test to see if it's likely software related, before resorting to a security wipe, is to try to access the camera using an app other than the stock Camera app. One such app is android Camera, which is part of the android runtime and can be accessed using Ghost Commander or Quick App Manager, both free in app world.
Will try that, thanks.
Carl,
I didn't want to do a full wipe because USB access is painfully slow and I use it as video player for my son and couple of games, it will be hell to get those back, not to mention have to find the original BAR files to sideload them.. So If I can't fix it, I think i'll just let it be.
Thanks guys
Toss it. Or toast it.

It's a known issue. had problem with mine a year ago after the warranty has expired, went to BlackBerry repair center, had it repair or replace without any cost. Don't know it still apply today or not after BlackBerry ending their support on paybook. It's worth the try though. It's more a hardware issue than a software issue. I tried wiping before I sent it for repair, it doesn't work. Good luck
