Browsing with Playbook
Hi There......I am trying to browse with my playbook into a secure site to download a financial securities program, but the playbook will not allow me to browse without using Google, or Bing, or something like that, which doesn't support the site that I am trying to get to, so it is not recognized. I have wiped it clean, started over & reset it, but still no luck. Now it defaults to the Blackberry website, and I can't seem to get rid of that either. Any way I can clean up the Browser, & browse without using Google, Bing, AOL, etc.? Plus, how can I eliminate defaulting to the Blackberry website? Every time I delete it, it automatically re-appears in the default space. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

You should have a browser icon -- usually it's in the top Favorites bar on the home screen.
But even if you open directly to Google, you can still enter any Web address in the address window at the top, which maybe you have hidden. Do a downward swipe from the top bezel to bring up the browser controls. You should see on the top left any browser tabs you have open (in your case, probably just one); on the top right you should see icons for New Tab, Downloads and Settings. Under this row of icons you should see the address window. Directly under Settings is a little slide switch; if that switch is slid to the left, it hides the address window; tap it or slide it to the right to un-hide the address bar, then do another downward swipe to hide the tools icons. The address window should always be displayed now. Tap it and the keyboard will appear for you to enter the full URL of the site you're trying too get to.
To change your default home/start page, do a downward swipe from the top bezel and tap the Settings icon (the gear). In the window to the right of Home Page, you can enter the URL of whatever page you want the browser to open with. Tap the Back button in the upper left corner when you're done, and you should be good to go.

I think that I tried that, but will try again. Thank You.

Hi...Tried again, still defaults to searching with Google, or Bing, or AOL, & they do not recognize the site that I am trying to go to, so it just can't get there.
Don't know what else to try. Thanks.

If you have the address of the Site enter it into the address bar of the browser?
It's worth noting that you can only install apps via BlackBerry App World or sideloading them

What are you entering in the address bar? You have to enter a web address, i.e, www.crackberry.com, and then hit Go on the keyboard. If you just enter crackberry, then you'll get a google, bing etc. search result.
