The advantage of the larger screen on the 7" PB compared to a 1/4 sized iPhone
is often negated as website fonts appear the same size or even smaller on the PB.

Add to that many mobile sites prevent zooming.
If you can zoom too often you end up scrolling
up and down and side to side to read a page.

Android devices with much smaller displays solve the issue,
by allowing the user to override sites that prevent zooming and
offering text reflow where text reformats after zooming
so side to side scrolling is not needed.

Any workarounds, hope for similar text reflow features on the Playbook ?

You might want to investigate SimpleBrowser (free) and SimpleBrowser+ available in Appworld from a developer who is very active on this site. The newest versions are suppose to permit text-reflow. It may still be waiting for rim to release it. Discussions about it are in the Apps subforum for pb.

    Thanks for the tips.

Have not tried the os/2 beta, people seem to have issues rolling back if needed?

Trying SimpleBrowser , the author suggested we could sideload the version with text reflow but I cant seem to get reflow working, posted in the other thread.

I made the browser font larger in the Options. That helps a bunch. Also, if you double-tap on a news column, it will zoom into that text. Rarely have to scroll side to side.

Installed the os 2 beta and the side loaded the latest Simple Browser...

Text Reflow works great, can use the PB now even in portrait mode !

    Will try Dolphin HD next.
