Ok, I got busted. I looked at pornhub last week and I knew right away something was wrong. I got a virus or malware. I get pop ups now and who knows what else.

    I can't find a spyware/virus scanner ANYWHERE.

Please help me. I'm not a bad guy. Just a guy who screwed up. I did the 'hard wipe' and got nothing. Still popups. The virus is something like doublepimp.com/fastpopunder (edit; not a link)

I lost the pics of my wife and my garden

If you know anything ease help

    Am I screwed?

Unless you downloaded something, you can't get a virus from streaming videos.

It must have been something else.

    I am not a troll. I'm an *****.

Something is very wrong. Streaming videos won't maximize anymore. Screen goes blank and with white or black and has to be closed.

Thanks for your suggestions I'll try those programs..

    Ahhhh...where to start...?

And not nearly often enough, apparently.

This in the PB section not the PC section. There is no such thing as system restore. I'm skeptical you have a virus OP but I suppose it's possible. Maybe its because the flash player hasn't been updated lately but that still wouldn't explain pop up's or continued pop up's after a wipe. How about some screen shots or a video?

Did you do the three finger hard wipe? Repeat a couple of times. Also get Advanced App Manager and Ghost Commander from app world to handle any Android problems.

Anybody got any info on a virus which will run on native Blackberry?

You could also try a system restore. Restore to a point before this started happening.

Are you talking about a computer. Playbook does not have system restore points. Could do full wipe and start over.

OK wipe is resetting the OS to factory and restarting is the rest. Which is the OP talking about when using wipe?

OP: Which browser were you using? If you did a true full wipe which sounds possible since you say you lost data it seems hard to believe unless you reset it while plugged into your computer that you would still have a problem.

thats awesome, post the link to a virus here so others can get it as well. I suggest removing that link as you have the potential to infect all of our pc's as well. Your issue is with your computer not any Blackberry device. Can A Moderator please move this and remove the link in the op. sorry you got this happening but I suggest getting ad block pro extension for your browsers. Do a virus scan, get crap cleaner pro and scan computer and get spyware blaster. run those three and just be careful in the future. I suggest using private mode on your browser as your history of site will not show up.

    Possibly an Adobe Flash exploit?

Nope, just an ad ridden site. The ad could be blocked by DNS but there is no access to the HOSTS file on the PlayBook to shut it out. Everything is a virus to people who don't understand what, exactly has happened.

Here is a reference on removing pornhub. Don't know how safe the site is. But you can try it on your blackberry. Pornhub has attracted a lot of attention these days as a really bad one to visit. The File removal app on your computer may not be good enough to eliminate all traces of Pornhub. I have one on a computer that I got from Source forge a couple of years ago that was effective for another problem. It may be commercial now and I did not see it on sourceforge in a brief search. Maybe others can suggest something for your computer. If your router has a USB plug in or memory for sites it might be a source of infection. Basically you have to look at your whole system.

    Hard wipe, haha. Thanks for the replies. A few points;

    - this is a playbook
    - I did the factory reset (3 finger wipe!)
    - browser is pb "browser"
    - I did use private browsing
    - have never had a pop up for 3 years, and now it won't stop, the movies won't maximize. The change in website behaviour suddenly is why I suspect virus
    - I downloaded advanced app manager and app commander

    - I'll work on getting an image or video

    - virus "link" is fixed/not clickable

Seems like you did a reset, not a security wipe.

But he said he lost pics and such. So must be a factory wipe. So how could it still be there? Again, hypothetically as I don't think PB has any virus problem due to QNX. Must have infected the network as jpash549 said. Maybe do another factory wipe and keep it quarantined from his network and see if the popups persist?

Keep it quarantined as in Bluetooth it with my cell phone? If my network is affected do I have to do a hard network reset? As in redo the router set up?
