Though that some of you of a more technical mind set concerning Web development and Browsers might find this interesting. A web server attempts to determine a browsers capabilities based on header information sent to it from the browser as well as by a few other means. On IIS we sites the information is compared to a Browsercap.ini file, and a Machine.config file with asp.net.

Some folks have reported that despite the PB having Java, the web site might report that it hasn't, and this is usually because when a web site can't determine what the browser is, it defaults to a pretty basic subset of capabilities. This usually has to do with the fact that a lot of web sites use a pretty outdated browsercap or machine.config file.

Below is a link to a company that tries to stay ahead of the game. Point your BP browser, bridge browser and BB phone browser to the link to see what capabilities these browsers have.

    Testing, please wait...

this will use several methods to determine what your browsers can do, and display this information in a table. It's probably the most comprehensive list of capabilities we might see. Hopefully some of the more popular web sites will update their browsercap file, and we will get a better web experience.

    Enjoy
