Yeah, I'd love to see bridge funtionality return to the PB. It was part of the reason I got the tablet, as I could receive/respond to text messages/BBMs on the train while using my tablet; and not have to take my phone out. I thought I read somewhere that part of the issue is that the bridge function is actually disabled on the BB10 side of things. I have no idea if this is truth or not, but maybe it needs some changes on both the PB OS as well as BB10.

As some above have pointed out, I have a feeling that no more $ will be spent on PB development. This company is in serious trouble at the moment, and to be honest they are making things worse by trying to launch so many devices. As much as I'd like to support BBRY, I don't see a viable business model long-term.

Would love my bridge back! I used to use my 9810 and 32GB PB as a mobile office - now I do most of the work on the Z10, because I can't use Bridge the same way. My wife still has her 32GB PB but turned in her 9790 for an iPhone (sad for me).

What the heck is wrong with BlackBerry management? The shareholders should have roasted them "Wickerman" style at the AGM since CrackBerry Kevin played *****-foot with Heins and crew.

Sadly, since BBRY has pretty much said there will be minimal support for the PB and they believe tablets will be all but dead in 5 years, I can't see them putting time and money into restoring full bridge functionality for their devices. Sucks for people who supported them by purchasing BB10 smartphones.

I want full bridge and more, like bridged phone call, use the playbook as a speaker for conference call, or answer/deny a phone call when your bb is not in your hand, not just put the ring off.

A functioning bridge is the only reason I'd buy a BB10 phone. No bridge, no dice.

I love the idea of releasing a Playbook update that would allow the tablet to function as an external touchscreen for the phone. That way they don't need to put BB10 on the Playbook itself. But would it do video over bluetooth?

I had my choice of tablets when I picked up my Playbook. I chose the Playbook because of the Bridge feature, and the ability to integrate the tablet and phone (in my case a BB 9780). When I switched to the Z10 it was a huge leap backwards in many ways, including the ability to integrate the tablet and phone. And now it's beginning to look like Playbook owners will be left in the lurch. That seems to me to be an odd way to sustain and build a customer base. Full restoration of the Bridge features is necessary if Blackberry does not want to continue to lose customers.

Nothing to add, except that a return to previous bridge functionality would be really cool. Was an unappreciated and under-promoted feature IMO.

Bought the playbook because of the bridge and I use the feature regularly. Switching from my 9930 to a BB10 phone would be a downgrade since the bridge has been broken. I don't understand why RIM (Retrograde In Motion) seems to go out of their way to alienate their customers.

Thanks for the post. I did not realize it was a problem.

I have two Playbooks (32 and 64) that I bridge with my 9810. Love it but my phone is getting old so was about to buy a Q10. I will now wait.

I sure hope they improve it for BB10. I want to upgrade!
I have a similar set up, love the Bridge functionality with my 9810 which I will be holding on to for the foreseable future. Hope Blackberry sort the bridge out for BB10 though.

I too would like to see Bridge return to its BBOS functionally.

However being able to use the PlayBook as a dumb tablet with a BlackBerry 10 device would be awesome.

I have two pb's bridged to my 9900 and 9800. I use my z10 as a standalone device ,because I still feel it is far more enjoyable to browse, open mails, read my ebooks on my playbooks. But yes an upgraded bridge would be nice.Funnily enough though both the legacy devices run on 2G I find the speed of browsing on my playbooks pretty fast compared to browsing with the playbooks bridged to the z10 ( which runs on 3G).

I bought my z10 on the impression that bridge would allow me to sms so I wouldn't be switching back and forth between devices while at home. Now I feel like I've been ripped off and want my money back. Never buy another blackberry device if this isn't fixed and I won't recommend it to anyone else either. FIX BRIDGE!
