I came home today, updated to 1.07.2670 right away then realized my wi-fi sharing stopped working, fixed that then found out ePub Reader doesn't work with the new OS. However, my biggest problem is the Bridge Browser. I would type in a URL then hit enter and the blue bar would go halfway then nothing happens.

Now I don't necessarily need it working because tethering works fine but it would be nice to be able to surf with both browsers.

FYI, I have the 16GB PlayBook, a ROGERS Bold 9700 with the latest Bridge app installed and 6GB data plan.

Does anyone know how to fix it? Is it just me that has this problem?

Certain web sites don't work for me on the bridge browser either!

I can go to CNN, MSNBC, and sites like that just fine. However, when I go to Gmail, Hotmail, Google Voice, these sites wont load on the bridge browser, but work great on the regular browser!

I have all the latestest software on a 9650 with Sprint.

maybe the carriers got something to do with it? can they detect if the data use is coming from a bb or from a playbook?

My signal is good and private browsing is off. The regular browser while tethered works great. Bridge browsing is a writeoff.

Any other ideas? It has worked before!!!

All Good here, try; clear cache, restart, try again.

    Latest Bridge Software?
I have a 9700 also running the 600 leak OS.

My bridge browser is far worse since 2670 also. It's easily half the speed (speedtest confirms), latency is up (half blue bar issue) and a number of sites that worked before the update no longer work. Not the best track record of reliability this bridge browser.

works great for me, all of the bridge function.. i think from the polls, 3 out of 10 person experience difficulties in using the bridge.. I wonder why, as there is no discernible pattern for this error..

Same problem here too...the bar goes a third of the way and then stops. The page doesn't load at all. I've tried both browsers and they both give me the same problem. Clearing cache, etc doesn't make a difference. Why the heck don't I have the ability to organize and rearrange my favorites?!

Not to mention the amount of times I get the large lock symbol telling me that the connection has been lost when my phone is 2 inches away from the Playbook.

Oh and lets not forget how long it takes App World to load, and how utterly craptastic it is. Where the heck is the Android marketplace app???!!

I REALLY wish RIM would pull their heads out of their asses and release a FULLY FUNCTIONAL device BEFORE it's released to the public rather than a half assed device that constantly needs updating.

Am I being negative? No. I'm telling it like it is, and unless people like you and I say something and put a stop to devices that are half-finished, RIM will continue to screw us over. I've had enough...

try backing up your data, and doing a security wipe to reformat the filesystem. could be something borked in there. just seems odd that 99% of folks aren't having this problem -- sounds device-specific.

I spoke with RIM tech support for over an hour today about this issue. I had to reinstall BB Bridge, reboot the Playbook and my 9650 a few times and the issue is still there. I have to capture some logs files and send them to RIM, but the tech support person said it looks like I found a bug.

I'll report back once RIM has time to look at my logs.

Of those of us that are experiencing this new issue, did any of us update to 2650? I skipped that & went straight to 2670.

I'm wondering if the 2670 fixed bridge for those that had applied 2650 first but borked it for those of us that hadn't. Almost as if the bug from 2650 was in effect a necessity for the 2670 patch to work.

Does any of that make sense?

Strange, I do see that the Bridge Browser seems to work slower than the regular browser via tethering.

I don't use the Bridge Browser anyway, the tether works just fine for me.

OP: Have you got the latest version of Bridge on your phone? When I was getting the "blue bar stuck half way" problem, the Bridge app update on the phone solved that problem.
