why cant i run android apps or .bar apps on my playbook? it says app stopped unexpectedly and says force stop and then I have to close app and it will not run can you explain

The PlayBook Android runtime is running Gingerbread (2.3), which came out many years ago. I'm guessing these apps need a minimum version that's newer than that.

For the Star Trek trivia challenged: You cannot get a newer version. The Playbook is 2 days older than God and there are NO updates to be found. If it says it is up to date that's all you get. For android apps, look on websites with android .apk's that are v 2.3.3 or less. You can convert them to .bar format and sideload them. They may or may not work but any version above 2.3.3 is a waste of time.

PlayBook only runs a subset of Android 2.3 apps - those that don't use ANY Android native code.
