The PlayBook Android runtime is running Gingerbread (2.3), which came out many years ago. I'm guessing these apps need a minimum version that's newer than that.
where do I get a newer version I have ran the update item on the playbook and it says it is up to date
It's dead, Jim.
For the Star Trek trivia challenged: You cannot get a newer version. The Playbook is 2 days older than God and there are NO updates to be found. If it says it is up to date that's all you get. For android apps, look on websites with android .apk's that are v 2.3.3 or less. You can convert them to .bar format and sideload them. They may or may not work but any version above 2.3.3 is a waste of time.
Has anyone been successful in installing messenger lite? I haven't been successful and it does say it supports Gingerbread 2.3 Hell I haven't been able to get Facebook Lite working either
PlayBook only runs a subset of Android 2.3 apps - those that don't use ANY Android native code.
