Currently have an iphone 4 but not getting the best out of my playbook, which current blackberry smartphone would be the best to go with? liking the looks of the 9900, any comments on how well the bridge is between them?

Any BB with 3g capabilities will do fine...
The 9900's touchscreen will help you while remoting on os2...
For web browsing when out of wi-fi connection any 3g one will do

I would say hands down the Bold 9900 is the best. Bridge if flawless as well. Depending on where you purchase it from you usually have a return period. If your not satisfied swap it for a different model... I highly doubt you will be returning it.

While the OS7 phones are real nice are you just not feeling the iphone or not able to use wifi hotspot without a charge? What is the playbook missing that you won't have after the update soon?

But if you like bb phones by all means get one. If you like the physical keyboards you'll be able to use the keyboard to type on your playbook also.

ive had the bold 9700 and torch 9800 but thought i would see what the hype with iphones was, i love the iphone but i miss the keypad on the blackberry and with me having a playbook it kind of makes sense to get a blackberry so i can use the playbook out of the house, otherwise ive payed 250 for a tablet that im not getting the full use of.

Get the 9930/9900 Bold! I recently got one after using the Torch 9850 for a couple months and I will say that the Bold is the best phone I have ever owned. The combo touchscreen/qwerty is absolutely perfect. Graphics are top notch and it works flawlessly. Oh yeah, bridging is the best! Some will say that any BB will do, but the high processing speed of the Bold is critical in bridging. Just do it!

    I'd get a newer OS7 Blackberry personally.

I have the first generation torch and it's such a technologically weak device with a lousy operating system that I rarely bridge unless I need the data. My advice is also based on the fact that the older generation phones are, in my opinion, a complete joke by today's standards. Most were actually outdated when purchased - like my torch. Some of the older Bolds are ok. I have a work version that is ok but if you are getting a phone specifically to use with your Jokebook get a newer one.

Get one of the top of the line berrys running os7. These have more memory and faster processors. So a bold 99xx, or any of the new torches. The faster phone makes bringing faster.

I occaisionally refer to my Playbook as my Jokebook. As a proud member of the "Beta Test Crew" since day one when this thing was released I feel I've earned the right.

i would have to disagree. the os7 devices work best.

i was using a 9700 on os6. the difference is a lot. the bridge browsing speeds on the 9900 is much faster.

go with an os7 bb. more memory, faster processor and not to mention its so much smoother.

Especially if you want to use the new keyboard functionality via bridge. The 9900 has the best keyboard yet for a BB. This was the main reason I went to the 9900 from the 9800 when I upgraded about a week ago.

I agree with collapsed. Any BB phone with 3G connection, and of course with BIS data plan will serve you well. Narrowing down the choice will depend on your own preference based on your daily usage needs (and possibly preference for aesthetics).

You might want to search CrackBerry reviews of phones you're considering. Reading through them really helped me decide which one to get.

    +1 for a 99xx Bold. I've bridged with both OS6 & 7 and 7 on my 9930 is definitely a winner. Love it!

Until recently I used a Curve 8530 which would periodically reboot---maybe once every other day---only when I was using the PB.

Since upgrading to the Curve 9370, no reboots---and noticeably zippier.

I just upgraded to the Bold 9900 and I live it alot better than my Curve 8520. The Browser is much faster. I think any of the BB with OS7 would be great but I do love my 9900.
