I work for a transportation company and am trying to convince them to switch over to BB10 devices instead of iPhones and droids.

Their major concern is that Bbry no longer has a tablet and they need to have a tablet that can seamlessly connect to their phones.

Are they still toying with the idea of redoing the playbook in the near future?

Highly doubt it.......BB is going back to their business roots, forsaking the consumer market. Now Chen said if there is something truly "epic", they may develop something, but don't hold your breath, you'll be dead........

They can market it to businesses. Doesnt have to be for all consumers.

Well, arguably Android/iDevices/PC or Mac systems seamless connect to BB10 phones through Blend.

What do they mean by "seamlessly connect"? Most smartphones can be set up as a wireless hotspot if they are looking for connectivity on the go. If you mean it will have something like "blend", then I don't think this is available on any other device platform. I'd be really surprised to see a company move away from iOS and droid. Problem with starting fresh on BB10 on an enterprise level (depending on the size of your company) is the investment into the servers/software required to manage the devices. All depends on the business and the needs of the employees, but for my money, I'd be taking a serious look at the new Surface 3 (not the PRO) tablets. Maybe with time BB will put another tablet out, but I would not expect anything in the near term.

Yeah, they tried the windows phone & tablet format and scrapped that after 6 mo.

They have a mix of droid and iphones now. They originally had Bbry devices but that was way back prior to 7.

This isnt my priority but its on my agenda to streamline their mobility as lifecycle of current devices ends.

But none of those other tablets offer the same level of security like the Bbry OS does.

I would prefer the security level of BBOS than the hackable droid/iOS.

Your sarcastic remarks are not needed. Was a simple post about wishing there was a BBry tablet still available.

I find that hard to believe. If that's the case, iPad wouldn't be so widely adopted in enterprise.

I'd like to see a BB10 tablet as well. I think the OP means by "seamless" that the OSs are the same so no extra training and confusion between devices. I continually try to do BB10 stuff on my android devices. LOL.

Blend leaves no trace on computer or tablet. The tablet is just a bigger screen.

Would be ******* awesome if they kept going with playbooks. Give them more of a premium feel like the phones and that's it baby.

For the last few months of 2014, I actually really wanted a Playbook successor to be released. I own a Playbook, but it is too outdated (slow browser, slow YouTube app that isn't really good, no Evernote app, no streaming radio app, etc.) But then I realized that it's probably never going to happen, due to the decline of the tablet market and Blackberry's current financial position. I really don't want to get an iPad, and I hate Android tablets with manufacture bloatware, so I'm thinking about getting a Nexus 9 running pure Android Lollipop.

The year 2015.. bought my first playbook.

Tot it's game over for the playbook BUT!!!!!

As long as blackberry bridge exists, the playbook can easily be in the market for a few more years.

Firstly the dual core processor doesn't have any huge lag or compromise the speed of the playbook.

The 1gb ram is enough to run a few important apps.

Believe me... side loading bring more fun as u are constantly checking which app might work. Spice up the usage actually.

Hope BlackBerry can improve on bridge and maybe improve the android player. Appreciated minor updates. Sometime... it takes very little to improve the playbook usage..

Just bought 2 more brand new Playbooks 32GB 1.5GHz LTE (sim card).

UI is better designed for multi-tasking and incredibly smooth. Would be great if they released a successor as a premium tablet.

BlackBerry need to support their last tablet - which they have happily divorced. Alas, they cannot be trusted with product development.

Your company should use iPads for business.
