Bad news: You have to wipe the device.
Here's a vid that will show you how to do a security wipe..

Hope that helps!
If the email is wrong on your blackberry id,you can login to the blackberry id web site and change it there. If you want to use a different blackberry id on your Playbook, you need to do a security wipe or a debrick. A debrick is the preferred method.
Why is debrick preferred? A security wipe is pretty simple right?
Some folks have suggested that it can be changed from the HELP icon on the Playbook. I don't know if it works!!!!!
Here's what I've captured (from others' efforts)
BBID - change it
On the home screen go to the HELP icon
> Blackberry appWorld
> Update your Blackberry ID account information (follow link)
> Sign In to Blackberry ID
> After sign in: change USERNAME
> Save
Do a power off/on re-set
The next time you go appWorld, MyWorld will show all apps associated with the applied USERNAME.
It does on Beta OS2.
Using those steps, you are changing the username on the account, not changing the bbid associated with the Playbook. You would do this for example is you had a typo in the email address when you first set up the account, such as [email protected] instead of [email protected]. I think this was what the op was asking.
If however the op meant it should have has a different persons BBID on it, he will need to do the security wipe or debrick.
A security wipe would also remove some things like the demo videos and certain apps. It used to be problematic for people in countries where the Playbook was not supported, though in that case even a debrick would not restore it. For example early adopters in China lost everything but the browser, didn't even have appworld. I don't know of this has been fixed yet.
Yes I meant it in reference to the wrong email being inserted. But even with that, what the email I use now is one I can't don't use if I change accounts or companies?
By the way thanks for all of your help. I hope OS2 will have a way of changing your BBID without having to have to do a complete wipe.
You should still be able to log into the Blackberry web site and change the email on the account. I am not sure if it sends a confirmation email to the old account to confirm.
This is all so painful and totally 3D lame. Now it appears that RIM has reverted back to the older definition of BBID, a two object affair consisting of email address and PSWD. I noticed this when I got hosed trying to buy more apps for my Torch 9850. As it stands, now my 9850 and PB have the same BBID, which is good. Truly lame: I am hesitant to buy a second PB because I wonder what is next for BBID. No matter what RIM does in this area they will never come close to the Walled Garden of the Evil Apple Empire. Rim needs to fire or eliminate one of their two Pro Consuls and then we will know who is in charge and who to blame for such foolishness !! Doc Neutron
I think they should have stuck with the PIN number concept. I picked one of my more obscure email addresses and now I am stuck with it. At the same time, using bbid for stuff like video chat, you might not want to use/reveal certain email addresses. Some folks might only have one email address and so as you note, now get a second or third device and start creating new accounts just to secure a BBID.
When I had to contest an appworld purchase, both rim and I were confused. They could not find the purchase. Appworld has one email address, paypal (receipt) another address and I contacted them using a 3rd email address. PIN would have been straight forward - maybe that's the problem - nothing about the introduction of the device has been straight forward.
Are there any drawbacks/issues/problems with using the same BB ID for your phone and PB?
I just got a 32GB PB this afternoon and I used the same BB ID that I have on my 9900.
Cheers
The idea is that each person have a BBID and as many devices as they want. This is possible with QNX, but as it is, the system can only support one pre-BB10 device.
Using the same ID shows RIM you have more than one device and allows you to install apps you bought on all of them.
That's all.
You can change your BBID username which is also the email that you provide when getting the BBID itself, and is used as a contact for RIM to send you info when you purchase stuff from the app world.
There is no need for a security wipe at all.
This is what you need to do:
- go to the Blackberry ID website
- log in with your current BBID and password (your case the wrong email or the email you want to stop using)
- once logged into click the edit icon in the account settings home page
- change the BBID username- i.e. use a new email ID and replace your old one, change password too if you want (suggest you do that also)
- save it, log out
- Go to your BB phone, get into the App world, go to account/options and insert your new email which is also your BBID username.
- save it.
- you will receive emails to confirm your new BBID username, do that by following the links in your email (you wont receive them in your BB phone, you will have to log into your email account via a computer).
- Now go to your PB, turn it on and it will ask you to reconfirm your BBID username.
- Insert your new email and password, hit enter and there you are.....
The PB will automatically update with your new BBID username and you will have all the apps right there. No need for a hard reset, wipe etc.
When you check the PB settings, you will find your new email as the BBID......
Good luck :)
I faced a unique problem with the BBID and here is the solved story on it
