Hi, I have a torch and OS6 and am new to the forum. I downloaded the new bridge upgrade from the OTA link. I cannot get my bridge browser to work at all. It worked fine with the old version of Bridge. I get a message that says my smartphone cannot establis a connection with the destination server. I would appreciate any assitance as to how to resolve this.

    Thanks.

I had version 1.48. And everything worked. I noticed 49 was availiable so I clicked on the ota and it install but now my bridge browser doesn't work.
I have a Torch 9800 os ver 6.0.0.600 on at&t with BES service.
I tried uninstalling, rebooting and redown loading the ota on this thread. Still doesn't work. Removed my pb and phone from bridge on both pd and phone. Rebooted both and set it back up. Still no go.

Everytime I open bridge browser or an email with links to the web the browser opens the progress bar gets to 40% or so then a username and password window pops up. Anyone else getting this?
    Anyway to fix it?
    Thanks

    I found the problem.
Iam on BES and my IT department has a password turned on for when we access the internet. I have never had to enter this password on my Blackberry but when i use my PC on the corporate network I have to enter it. When I had an old bb curve I had to enter the password. And now when using bridge browser I have found I need to use that password. Best I can tell the bridge browser uses a different path than my torch. At the end of the day I entered my user name and password for my corporate network internet and now Bridge browser works.

i'm a novice at this so apologize. Would like to know what OTA stands for and if I download the Bridge OTA will it allow me to tether my Playbook and browse without paying ATT those ridiculous fees?

Yes, you can connect without fees. OTA means Over The Air. Access the page from your device.

I'm trying to install this latest bridge update but I am on a BES that does not allow third-party downloads. Are there any work-arounds that I could use to upgrade my bridge software on my phone to this latest version?

I just installed the latest pb update and the latest bb bridge update from app world. When I turned off my wifi connection, but kept bb bridge active the bb bridge browser was still grayed out. This is for the Torch 9800 with att service provider. I was under the impression that the new bridge update would a,low you to freely browse the net on the pb while away from a wifi connection

KD5YFS, you need to uninstall the bridge app on your phone and the d/l the bridge app from the " Stickie" at the top of this forum and install it.It should pair automatically. Then you should be good to go..
