I am aware that Blackberry dropped plans to support their thorn in the side Playbook with BB10. The thing that troubles me is that they were quick to support IOS and Android with BBM but not with the Playbook. No sense of logic there but hey I suppose I could try side loading BBM.......

You could always get the android Apk file and convert it into a bar file and side load it to the PlayBook and see if it works

Not exactly what you want, I know, but I have the Z10 bridged and I love reading my bbm's on my sweet PB, still rocking after 2 and a half years.

Well, at least I could use BlackBerry Bridge to use BBM on my PlayBook. Most PlayBook users could already BBM on their BlackBerry phones, so BlackBerry would rather have BBM on other platforms to increase BBM market share quickly.

BBM converted to bar won't work since for whatever reason the conversion put a OS lock of 10.0.9 needed. At least it did the last I tried.

It's a freaking BlackBerry product. No side load or require a BlackBerry phone to use BBM. It's not a toaster. It's a freaking tablet. Not third party app. It's build and developed by BlackBerry! Are they freakin incompetent or just plain ignorant?

No does not!!!...just check all the Android DLNA apps - they won't work because of blocked UDP packages....

You are lucky. I have not bought an OS 10 because of the complaints that they will not bridge effectively with a PB.

Not all, but the most important features are there, e.g. text, BBM and call notifications.
