It can be tethered, but if it doesn't have OS5 on it, it wont be able to be bridged

I have the same version but it's Sprint. Pairs beautifully! Pairs when I don't want it to. In fact, if the curve and PB had their way, they would ALWAYS be paired.

It can tether but the only thing is that the Bridge function will not work IIRC.

Can you explain more about what you mean by IIRC?

Great, upgrading the phone right now then lets see if I can get a good deal for a PB

IIRC = If I recall correctly.

And I'm currently using a Verizon Curve 8330 with the OS found here

I can say first hand that bridge works flawlessly.

Thats great news. I'll try to replace mine with the version 5 also.

Yup, I have that set up as well. Runs pretty low on memory but I have a Precision Zen Theme on top that looks great as well.

I've tried installing the OS5 but when I try booting up, it just stops 3/4 of the way and just doesn't seem to go through.

    Any help?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file before loading the new OS through DM?

    Hi,

Finally Its simply because it took a long time to make the initial setup so once I've let it go, it worked. Now I'm trying to see if everything does work properly.

I used to have 8330 with OS5 from Alltel, and now it's in my dad possession.
Before, I tried to bridge the 8330 to PB and it works flawlessly.
So yes, as others stated, it will work.

Great, Although I have 30MB of memory free, it seems to lag is this normal?

I had replaced my 8330 before I got the PlayBook so I can't comment on how they work together, but I did try updating it to OS 5. It didn't last long though since it couldn't get out of its own way and I had to downgrade back to 4.5 just to make the phone usable. Most times it was in an hourglass state. Too much OS for the phone I think.

If you're talking about the OS performance then yes it is a bit laggy compared to newer phones. But I don't find it inhibiting at all.

Try to reload after using BB Boss to shrink your OS.
