Beware! Security Wipe might brick Playbook.
I just got a Playbook and within 24 hours, I bricked it. I set it up without any problem. However, I messed up my Wi-Fi file Sharing ID and could not remove the Password. Since I did a Backup with the Desk Manger, I performed a Restore. Restore did not remove the Wi-Fi Password. So I did a Security Wipe thinking that would bring me back to original.
The Security Wipe put my Playbook in a Loop with just the Boot Up screen. So I use the Desk Manager to connect the Playbook and reinstall the OS and updating at the same time. I was able to load and update new OS on the Playbook but this time around my Playbook could not be set up. I am getting a 2012 error message, stating that my Playbook cannot be authorized.
I tried the 3 finger Power on but I just could not do that with my Playbook. Not sure if it was me or the Power Button is not working correctly.
I must have reloaded the OS 4-5 times with the Desk Manager but each time; I am getting the same error 2012.
Contacted Blackberry Help and the Customer Support told me to get the Playbook out and in of range or reconnect to a different Wi-Fi. Both of these I did and still getting 2012 error message.
I am now waiting for the Customer Support to email me. I even ordered a Piel Frama iMagnum case for my BlackBerry Playbook right after I got my Playbook.
I sure hope I can get my Playbook working again. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
