Router? Who has a router at home?.
HA! Most people I would think. Seriously consider getting a router.

Why would I need a router when I only have one PC, my PB and my phone, and my internet connection is only live when I am actually using it (maybe two or three hours a day, max)? It just makes life more complicated than it needs to be, especially when you live on a yacht and every milliWatt of electricity is precious. I'd be more likely to get rid of the PB than buy another thing to run.

Get rid of 8, and go back to Win 7 Pro.
Win 8 is the ME/Vista of the Microsoft world..........
You can find a LEGAL Win 7 Pro 32/64 bit for about 78 bucks on the interwebs. May say Dell or HP, BUT installs on any machine (comes with activation codes) and activates and is LEGAL. Google it.

I tried a Win 8 machine for about 4 days and took the machine back to BB. Just to much cr*p in front of you.

Found a couple of machines with factory Win 7 @ Fry's.

Reminds me of when w7 first came out - a whole lot of die hards swore that they would never use it. Lol

Nothing wrong with w8, to the contrary it has lots of great features, like anything new it takes getting used to.

Are you nuts? Win8 is the best OS I have ever used. It builds on the strengths of Vista and addresses some of the shortcomings of Win7. Using Win7 and OS X at works feels so old and clunky now, I can't wait to get home and actually get stuff done in Win8. I'll ditch my Playbook before I get rid of Win8.

agree with you think win 8, is one of the best systems they' ve come out with. but as far as who has home routers, not only do I have one that covers inside the house, I also have an extender to boost signal outside and they work great.
