I am curious: if a refurbished unit, how many charge cycles does it show? I wonder if that number is reset on factory refurbished units?
playbook is reset to factory default

The readings are straight from the OS, with no meddling by Battery Guru. In practice, they appear to be within about 2-3% of the actual value, and for devices with higher recharge counts (maybe >40) they tend to be pretty stable over months, unless you significantly change your charging patterns. It doesn't do to compare them much with others, but they appear likely to be useful for detecting long-term degradation of the battery. Those of us with over 200 recharge counts are still not noticing any really big drops, however, so the jury's still out on just how long we'll get effective use out of these batteries.
I'm curious about the same thing as F2... did it show only 0 or a few recharges? That, by the way, would not necessarily mean the battery recharge count had been "reset". I still tend to believe these are counts maintained by the on-battery controller, which means that if they replaced your battery it would show 0 just as it would if they could reset it. You'd need to open up the device and find a date code on the battery to prove anything. If, however, it has much above 5 recharges showing, then it seems they not only don't reset it, but they may ship refurbs with original batteries in some cases (which is also fine, mostly, since the Li-Po batteries are far more robust than the older tech).
I turned off the auto backlight fuction, and turned on dev mode...stramgely I had. 53% charge steady for a good 30 or 40 minutes... I dunno..lol
its solar winds..lol...were all getting microwaved ..lmao
