Has anyone noticed a significant battery drain issue after upgrading to 1.0.3?

Mine drains very quickly compared to .1710..even if i'm not using it. I tried letting it drain until it died last night to see if maybe a full charge would help calibrate the battery but already this morning, i haven't even used it and the battery is already down to 92%.
I think the battery meter still has some issues (with me at least), last night i ran for a good 20-30 minutes on 0%. So i'm wondering if noone else is having the issue if i should try to reinstall the os. Any thoughts?

Yes I have the same problem:

    Day 2: down to 91% battery from a confirmed 100% at 0630

Almost 10% gone in 90 minutes with absolutely no use, BT off, Wifi off.

I'd love to have 1% per hour...
I unplugged it at 7:00am, its now 8:40am and i'm down to 88%.
The only thing i've used it to do so far is check my battery status.
Wifi is on, bluetooth is off.

It wouldn't be a big deal to me to have to turn off wifi when i'm not using it, but i KNOW i got a lot better battery life (especially in standby) before the update.

i had no problems at all with 1710 but after 1.0.3 it dropped 37% in 9 hours with no wifi or bt on. Common RIM, make it right - that's an awful drain!

My experience has been great. The battery is lasting extremely well even though I am browsing, creating spreadsheets, making powerpoint presentations and using Bridge. After a full day of work and some home play, I still had over 70% battery. That being said, I did have one day where the battery drained like crazy, but that was before I upgraded.

Interesting. Thanks guys, i'll try doing a reinstall using the debrick method and see if that has any significant difference

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to actual power lvls but this morning, mine was at 0 % and wouldn't turn on. I was doing much better with 1710.
I will do an actual monitored depletion measurement once I'm back up to 100%

Yes, same experience. Battery draining seems to escalate after the update. I'll conduct some tests this weekend and obtain more quantified results.

I have been using 1710 for sometime and, other bugs aside, was getting good battery life. Little drain while in standby. I updated to the newest firmware via Desktop Manager yesterday, and before I drove home form work, my battery was at around 84%. In the evening at about 9 PM I took the PB out of my work bag and immediately noticed it was warm to the touch. When I turned it on the battery level was at 47%. Definitely new behavior.

I plan on doing a wipe of the device today so that I can set it back up from scratch and see if any installed apps were possibly causing the issue. Since some people are saying they have the new version (1868) and they are getting decent battery life, it makes me wonder...

For those saying their PBs are just fine. Did you do an upgrade over an existing setup with apps you had already downloaded from AppWorld or did you wipe the device and start from scratch with the OS update?

i wouldn't call it good though, on 1710 it 1% would last for about 2-3 hours standby

yes the batt does drain quite a bit.
1hr tethering, and surfing on the crackberry mobile site drained my batt 35%, after a full charge 3hrs ago, where the first 2hrs was basically on standby...
hope next OS solves the batt issue.

I just exchanged my 32 GB for the 64 last night. Charged it and took it off charger at approximately 6:45 this morning, 3 hours later I am at 94% with BT/Wireless on. Tethered and bridged to my BB since I have no wifi. Light usage a few BBM's, FB posts and a few emails so far everything looks good.

My PB seemed to be doing fine yesterday after the update. But last night I had 70% battery left when I went to bed. I was shocked just now when I tried to turn on my PB it was completely drained down to 0% and had shut off!
I'll keep monitoring to see what's up.

I just used my 1.03 PB for taking notes throughout a 2 hour meeting without wifi on, but BT bridged to my Tour. Starting with about 98% charge, I ended with about 76% charge. That's not too bad for 2 hours of pretty continuous use. I had not used the PB for such an extended period with .1710, so I'm not sure how that stacks up before/after.

That's about 8 hours of heavy use (albeit without wifi), averaged out. Not bad, but I am wondering how greatly having wifi on would have effected that.

    definite decrease in battery life
BUT, since the battery meter has thus far proven to be pretty inaccurate, who knows??

Battery life was very good on 1710. Upgraded to 1868 yesterday morning. During the day the PB got warm during standby with no apps running--and the drain was astonishing, >10% per hour

After yet another restart in the evening and a switch to Application Behavior Paused (just in case) the device no longer got warm during standby and drain battery slowed a bit. I'll try to note actual figures today.

May the it's the inaccurate battery meter, but the drain is much worst. I thought I had about 50% charge last night when I went to bed. Wifi/bt were off, all apps were closed. It won't turn on this morning until I plugged it in. 0% charge. And it's the 64GB version if that matters to anyone.

    Interesting.

I had my playbook plugged in until 10pm last night. Played with it for about
30 minutes, and left it on a table overnight. Brought it to work with me, and
just woke it back up at 11am. So over 12 hours on standby.

    My battery is at 97%

Note, I closed all open apps before going to bed. Wifi on, BT on.
