    So very very frustrating, spent 2.5 hours trying to back up 27GB of data using the desktop software and once the back up was complete I went to the back up file on the laptop and it's not a readable file!!! WTF!! This has now happened twice.

    Do you mean it's not readable, as in, you can't open it in windows explorer? Is it a .BBB file? Can you restore it to a PB?

    I used BB Desktop exactly once to try to reload the OS on my PlayBook. It failed miserably. I deleted the program immediately.

    I switched to BB Link, and the same operation completed without a hitch. Maybe a backup restore in that program would work better than in BB Desktop (or actually WORK).
