I just got my PlayBook on Thursday. Everything going well. Setup my mail ect...now it does not connect. I need help and am frustrated. It says my server name might be wrong. What am I missing? Please help. It should not be this hard. Thanks.

First, AOL still exists???

Second, are you setting it up automatically? If so, try manually.

IMAP and POP Configuration Instructions:
IMAP Setup Information

IMAP Username: [email protected] (or @love.com, @games.com, etc.)
Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com (Use port 143 for standard or 993 for SSL connections)
SMTP Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com Set the port to 587
SMTP Username: [email protected] (or @love.com, @games.com, etc.)
SMTP Password: password you use to login to Mail
For a secure connection, check the SSL option for IMAP/POP and TLS for SMTP in your mail program.

POP Setup Information

POP Username:[email protected] (or @love.com, @games.com, etc.)
Incoming Mail Server: pop.aol.com (Use port 110 for standard or 995 for SSL connections)
Remember to check the option to Leave messages on the server
SMTP Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com Set the port to 587
SMTP Username: [email protected] (or @love.com, @games.com, etc.)
SMTP Password: password you use to login to Mail

Was told to wipe my PB. The new OS does not support.....whatever. Not happy buying my PB so far.

Odd. I just made an an aol account to test. So for it works. I sent an email to it from another account and replied to it back to that account.

Still nt working. I have wiped my device three times now. I have a tix number with RIM. Calling later today. I have spent more time talking to them then using my PB. It is a pain. I think it has something to do with the new OS. It will work and then all of the sudden just stop working. I am running out of ideas. I know AOL is old but it should nt be a problem.

I only tried mine to see if it worked and then deleted it off since it's an old account I don't care about. I just added user name@ and password, didn't change anything.

I know it's a work around but you could forward to outlook.com or Gmail etc and get it that way.

Spoke with RIM. They have started an advanced problem ticket on this issue. Mine is now working for the moment. The guy said they may have made some changes behind the scenes. Not sure what that means. If it's fixed for good fine. If I end up battling this issue......Im going to get a Kindle and be done with it. Just tired of working on this and not playing with my device.
