I use it when traveling to play emulations (GB Adv, PSX, NES games)
And long car trips for kids to watch movies.
Still going strong as a multimedia device and engineering reference guide with downloads from the blackberry store. I also have books and manuals in Pdf formats.
Hi to everybody, I just ordered a PB after finding it on Amazon for a fair price, I would be glad to know a list of viable apps to keep it running for work (email, PDF viewing) and leisure (going on internet, watching videos). Is it true you cannot sync a gmail account on it?
From my awesome Z30
No.
I use mine everyday for Kindle reading and films, radio. Always loved the solid build and screen quality. Works fine on email accounts except MSN which is sporadic!

Good news, thanks a lot!

I find my Amazon Echo is actually replacing my PlayBook for things like listening to music etc.. sad times!

Ours is still used to stream accuradio to an antique radio which was gutted and replaced with Bluetooth.
what are you using as an emulator?

BG-Color or something/ i had a few.
and PSPPP?
search in forum... retroarch does a bunch of different format though.
Just finally charged it again ad booted it up. Don't travel much so it goes dead quite often.
PCSX-PB
SNES9xPB
VBAMpb
also have RetroArch although it is way at the bottom so I probably don't use it as much.
I'm interested in the PSX emulator.. are all games available for this, or only a selection?

Still going good since day one of release, use a lot for You Tube videos. Also great for music attached to my Bose soundtouch or without the sound quality is great. The bridge app still works attached to my Passport or Z30. I am not a constant user of Facebook but recently realized the Facebook app still works.

I had my 16GB playbook delivered three days ago, I configured it and it works flawlessly, except for emails, It seems they only can be received through a WiFi connection, when I try to get them via bluetooth pairing, the server doesn't connect. I'm kindly asking What to do, I had it paired to a Z30. I read some 2014 threads explaining that BlackBerry bridge works partially with a BlackBerry 10 device. Is it true? I went on a post displaying a window allowing to exchange emails as well, but I can't find it on the app (version 3.sth). If anybody can provide some help, it would be really appreciated. In any case, I can view all my documents, pictures and files stored in the phone in the tablet, too.

I don't think you can tether PlayBook over Bluetooth and get it to use that as a data connection.. you can tether it using bridge, but this only used to show messages from your phone IIRC.. the only way I can think of is to set up a wifi hot spot on your Z30 and connect to it from the Playbook?

Thank you for this suggestion, I had already tried to set up the mobile hotspot on the smartphone. It just can't sync, then I asked my carrier, they told me to set up APN and password, I did, but the emails do not come through. When the playbook is connected via WiFi, the emails are received flawlessly. I am trying to understand if the tethering internet can be fixed somehow. Can anybody explain where can I find on the smartphone settings this window?

Does your phone's wifi Hotspot allow the Playbook to access other aspects of the internet (eg: browser)? Just trying to understand if it is just emails on the Playbook that don't seem to work when connected to the phone's Hotspot, or if it is a general Hotspot problem you are trying to deal with. Are you able to get internet access for other devices through the Hotspot from the phone?
I am not sure for the Z30, but for the Z10 the Hotspot is configured from :
System Settings > Network and Connections > Mobile Hotspot > Turn On, then setup and configure.

I love my little tablet. I actually have a z10 that didn't survive a counter smashing. I was going to pay for repairs and thought it would be compatible. THANKS for letting me know that, now I'll consider other options. Have a beautiful day!
Yeah, if you can't connect via the hot spot at all, it might be that your carrier is blocking it.. not sure if they can though.. they used to be able to with the Java BlackBerry devices.

On the Z30 it was just like that, but it didn't sync. I can try again, so as to ask my carrier again in case it doesn't sync again

Mine is useless now, power button won't turn it on.

Using it right now. Use it for reading (kobo), listen to music (deezer), video chat (native bbm video chat) and light browsing. All native apps within BlackBerry world!
