Bought a 64G for myself and one for each of my 2 boys. Already had a 32G so I now own two myself. What to do? Thinking one for work but then where do I put my apps? Can you run two on the same BBID?
I believe some people have said you CAN run two with the same BBID, but you can't videochat then. Doesn't sound like that should be a problem in your current scenario...
We'll have two in the family in a couple of days, when my wife unwraps hers.
Our family will have three shortly, though two are for me with one being reserved for development-related testing (currently with the 2.0 beta on it) and the other split between dev and real life.
What TheScionicMan says is true... same BBID on two works fine, though every time you install something from App World it will ask you to confirm associating the new device's PIN with your account. And you can't video chat between your two PlayBooks then. I'm sure there are other limitations that will crop up as well, but at least for my sort of use case it's fine.
The point about BB Balance is good though... should be no real need to have two for yourself, unless you're a developer, once 2.0 is out.
We have two -- the 64gb I bought on launch and the 16gb I won from Crackberry which I generously gave to my wife. I'm now trying to convince her to give it to our son in exchange for me picking up a 32gb for her on Boxing Day but I have not won her over yet.
Have purchased a total of four so far. One for wifey,(16) one for my son,(32) and two for me (32&64) one with stock os, and the other with 2.0 beta. We all use them everyday.
Im typing this from my 16g and i just bought my wife one from best buy for 199.00 so after Christmas, we'll be video chatting during our lunch breaks :-)
I have two PBs. - my first one with OS 1.8 and one I got @ DevCon Asia with OS 2.0
One thing is for sure: you can use 1 BBID on both devices and you can sync apps on both devices. The only downside is that you cannot video chat between these two playbooks.
As I see it, you have two options:
1. Keep the second one as a spare one
2. Give it to a loved one or sell it to a friend. I'm not sure what will happen if you use one BBID, sync all apps and then change the BBID. If the apps stay, it will be a great way to share some apps with a loved one and have the option to video chat
Was pleasantly surprised when I connected the 64G to Appworld with my existing BBid and it allowed me to install all the apps I had loaded on the 16G, free or paid. Now both units are rocking the same apps... no need to buy them again for another unit.
