Mail Client, Android Market/Apps, Miraculous Improved Battery Life
The latest operating system seems decent to me.
What are u running on there to drain your battery so quickly?
Bridge features with my 9930! Remote control has me very excited, full keyboard and mouse control will be the bees knees! I'm also really looking forward to discovering things that I don't already know about :)
one question...what's relevant of bridging when you can have all of this native email, contact, calender and etc. when OS 2 comes out?what will be used for bridgign in OS 2?just to access to BB messenger?
I really want to check out the browser. It looks like it gets great html scores! Of course everything else thats coming with it too!!!!
BB remote and improved browser speeds. I'm happy with the browser now but improvements are always welcomed.
I can't choose just one.... Do in order:
1. That amazing multitasking email app
2. My 9900 as remote mouse and keyboard
3. Usb OTG
In order:
1. AD2P so I can finally go and pick up new headphones. :)
2. Remote control of device from a 9780 as I'm curious how it will perform given that it's not a touchscreen device as was used with all of the demos so far.
3. Mkv container support in the hopes that most of my videos will simply play without needing to convert anything.
can someone tell me more about the usb otg feature????
1. Email
2. BB phone control
3. A2DP
4. Android Apps
5. Print-to-go
As for number 5, I didn't originally see it's usefulness but have found myself needing such an app more recently!
Apparently, the physical circuitry is there but no one knows if/when it will be implemented. It is not anticipated in the initial release of OS2. Folks are hoping to be pleasantly surprised. As for what it is or could be: would allow you to hook up maybe a camera and view the contents on the pb, or hook up an sd card reader and read/store data/files to/from it.
I'm running whatever the latest official firmware is. Which is 1.8.XXXXX. I'm not sure if the battery is draining more in my situation. Is it normal that you charge it to 100% and after sleeping it's at 85-90% when you wake up, or it draining few percentage when you turn it off?
Plants vs. Zombies. Not necessarily an OS2.0 thing but it seems like its release will coincide with the 'reinventing' of the playbook.
not in order:
predictive text and auto correct
search in docs to go and sheets to go
native email and contacts
hopefully keyboard use with my bold 9000
An upgraded Docs to Go, specifically sheets to go, to make it useable.
:)Not exactly what you may have in mind but by using Storage and Sharing I set mine up to be on my HomeOffice network and by using the desktop to log into my PB I can access Documents and print what I wish on my networked printer. BTW that's easier to manage if you set a static IP for the PB. Just for your consideration as an option until we get "The Real Thing". :-)
I was considering waiting for the official BB keyboard & case, but I found one on Amazon with good reviews & it comes with a case for... wait for it.... $40 + $5 s&h. I am looking forward to the email & calendar features. Hope they can sync with Google calendar. Free apps would be great. Netflix support!!!
Who said Android Market?
I look forward to it solving world peace, starvation, and child labor.
:)
Bridge will add new functionality in 2.0 in addition to BBM which won't native until a later release. The new functionality will be:
1. Use your BB phone as a keyboard.
2. Remotely control your PB with screen swipes.
3. More precise control for editing using the BB touch pad as a mouse.
4. Presenter mode.
There maybe be other functionality as well I just can't recall. There are a couple of CES 2012 demos that show these new features.
im looking forwarx to typing all about the evils of child labour without a sibgle zpellibg mistake, grammar error, or garbled word.
im HOPING for bbm groups, but not much info on that :(
Email! My wife who is not technically savvy but easily manages her iphone is taking only the playbook to the caribbean next week. Webmail is a pain, would be so nice to have a native email client that can use pop or imap. And I want to put icons in folders.
For you, I hope it's spell check. ;)
Skype..............oh wait.
lol what interested me the most from what we have seen of OS2.0 is the new intergrated contacts.
