An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
Hi there.
Since the recent software update I have been having this problem with a few sites on my playbook. When I wish to send or submit a message and press enter it does not send the message, instead it moves the text input line to the next line below, like the enter keys function on a word document program or a forum.
This means on sites where there is no "send" or "submit" button I can not send my messages, everything else works fine so far as I can tell and before the update when I was on the same sites enter did send my messages.
Does anybody know what I can do?

Could you give example sites, I haven't come across this yet.

The main one that it is most annoying is msn messenger.

I must say, I do not know of any sites where there would only be "enter key" capability but not a send or submit button. If it is a "full" site it will have a enter button to tap. If its a mobile site it will also have a enter button as it is touch screen compatible.
You are clearly on a site where the neter button is not visible and you have to scroll over to see it. If its something like MSN I do not have that problem

Bold, msn is the main one I am concerned with the rest are all minor parts on various sites that I can live with on my playbook like some parts of facebook I have noticed it.
msn worked fine, then since the software update enter is not working to send my messages and there is no "send" or "submit" button anywhere for it.
Are you saying you use msn after the update and have no problem? How do you access it and do you pay for it?

Please post the link if you want us to test and (hopefully) come up with a solution. Lots of sites allow access to WLM and "MSN" is too generic.

Maybe tap outside of whatever text-entry-box you are typing into and then press Enter?
Re: An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
Sorry for not explaining clearly I am new to this world. The link is https://profile.live.com and I log in and click a little white speech bubble with a smiley face on, it opens my messenger on the right hand side and shows my online contacts. It did work before for a while but not since the latest update.
F2, thanks for your help but sadly it does not work, if I click outside the text entry box the keyboard closes and then if I open it again by swiping from the bottom left corner it doesn't work.
Also this very site does not seem to let me enter things when I access it through playbook, I tried signing up a few times and nothing happened until I came on my PC and could register and post with no problems.

I couldn't get it to work eitther, even using the bb bluetooth keyboard. On a computer does a send button appear?
Re: An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
no on a computer all you need to do is press enter and it sends, to use enter to drop down to a new line you must press shift+enter.
It worked fine before though.
Re: An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
Could anyone please tell me any other way to get msn on the playbook? I have tried the IM+ App that is in the store but it didn't work.
Please if you could tell me I would greatly appreciate it as one of my main uses for playbook is to get on msn when I am out and about in a wi-fi zone.
Re: An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
IMO should work, however the IMO website says it's having a problem with MSN and try later.
The IMO app is available here to sideload
Blackberry Playbook Android Apps | Good e-Reader Android APP Store - Playbook App Market
You can also access IMO and chat from their website https://imo.im/ - you set up an IMO account then add all your different social accounts for single sign on from app or website on any device.
I have IMO app on my blackberry phone and Playbook, but I had everything but MSN included (skype chat, gtalk, yahoo, facebook) and when I got an error went to the website and saw that message about trying later.

I just tried the free IM+ app from app world and only one of my 22 contacts show up. I searched microsoft help and they have a few open issues describing this and seems they are working on it. Is this the problem you had?

I had various problems, it was within the first few days I got my playbook so I forget everything but one problem was that contacts I knew were online were not showing up. And also some messages I sent they did not receive.
Thank you for the links KBZ ebuddy seems to be perfect for what I need.
Re: An annoying problem since the last update. Any help?
Sorry to post again, the Ebuddy message was premature.
It keeps closing down my browser randomly when I am signed in. Sometimes it was when I was typing a message other times there would be no apparent reason but it closes down my entire browser even the other tabs I have open. I tried running it on it's own and it kept happening.
I tried the imo one and that seemed to work just fine and looks like it will be good but I was only on it for 10minutes.
Is there any risk of logging in to these sites with my msn password? my msn is my hotmail account and I use that e-mail for a few accounts which I have quite a bit of money on. I use different passwords for every different account but just wondered is there any risk in entering my hotmail password onto a 3rd party site?
