Frequently when I start an Android application the application appears to start and then it immediately shuts down. This happens with side loaded applications and Android applications from the App Store as well.

When this happens for one application I'm not able to run any Android applications until I restart my Playbook. It appears that the Android player has crashed. Anyone else have this problem? Any way to resolve other than restart?

    PlayBook OS 2.1.0.1314

This hasn't been a problem since OS 2.1 dropped. Try a hard reset first.

Which applications are the ones who make it crash? Mine's fine, but I don't use it too often.

You might also want to consider a security wipe. That has been known to address Android Player issues.

I've had the same problem, with both sideloaded and AppWorld Android apps. An example was Pandora (sideloaded, I believe). A hard reset fixed the problem. It does seem more prevalent since the 2.1.0.1314 upgrade. I realize that BB has no responsibility for sideloaded apps, but to the OP's point, it happens on "approved" ones too. Even Goodereader's (source of many Android-converted apps) keeps hanging.

Did Hard Reset. So far have not seen the problem re-occur. Opened several different Android applications -- sideloaded and AppWorld apps and they all started as expected.

Well. the hard reset didn't solve the problem. The same behavior is back today. A soft reset or hard reset let's me start using Android apps again -- but, only temporarily.

Maybe BB10 will fix this for me. Don't want to try security wipe. Concerned that a restore of applications could cause bigger problems than the one with the Android apps that I'm dealing with.

Curt - I've experienced the same thing. I don't know if some particular Android app triggers the problem, but I have tried using the BB App Advanced Application Manager to force Android apps to close, and it's sometimes made a difference. But sometimes not. I've decided that because sideloading is not an "approved" method, I'll just work around it and see what BB10 brings. But the problem clearly increased with 2.1.0.1314.
