I am watching the movie Sparkle right now and it works and looks great...so amazon on demand is great on the Playbook
this amazes me that this service is not well known. its a great service that works great on the playbook.

I've been streaming videos (movies and tv shows ) on the pb for several months now. Quality has been excellent.
By default the video store should be in a folder called Shop. You can also find the Accessories Store and Music Store there as well. If it is really deleted you will need to reload the OS to get it back. If you're in Canada it is available in Appworld.
You can stream the videos perfectly. But, the downloaded video needs the amazon unboxing app to watch.

Where do you get the unboxing app?
That is correct. The same thing happens with Neflix - the Canadian Netflix content is significantly leaner - ie fewer titles than what a friend of mine gets in the USA.
Does anyone know about the unboxing app mentioned above?
Amazon.com Help: Amazon Unbox Video Player
It won't do you any good on your PlayBook though AFAIK, the videos are DRM protected and can't be transferred to any unsupported devices.
