I cracked the screen on my 16gb Playbook awhile ago. Got a 32 and pretty much use the 16gb for watching videos. I leave it attached to the hdmi cable with Dukto always on. I also leave it on the magnetic charger. When I have a video on the computer or a DVD I want to watch, I simply Dukto it on over to my Playbook and then watch it on the TV.

Does it hurt the playbook to be constantly plugged into the charger?

Mine have pretty much stayed on the charger when not in use. No battery issues on 4 playbooks for over a year.

my book is plugged into the rapid charger when I do not have it in my hands. no issues since last Christmas.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

The charger circuitry is current limiting. So when the PB is fully charged it basically reduces the current to a very small maintenance current. No issue leaving it connected all the time. Your battery might just last a little longer. I leave mine on the charging dock 24X7 except when I use it or leave the house.

Mine spends 90-95% of the time on the charging cradle - still get very good battery life when I am out and about with it

Same here if I'm not holding the PB its on the base, and the 9930 for the most part is plugged in over night.

Just to back up what everyone else is saying.....

If one of my Playbooks isn't in my hands, it's on the charger.
