Nooooooooooooooo
Anytime after today is "later this year" :D
I love it. So ambiguous.
Consistent with what everything BlackBerry has said since BlackBerry 10 was announced.
No news here.
I was hoping for more, but got what I expected.
Man was I worried he would say something like coming soon or right around the corner.lol
Now we have a solid commitment of a firm date.
Less than 11 months boys and girls and were all set to go.
So what do you think? Wait 2 weeks then start check the update button hourly?
Maybe BlackBerry is worried that if they push bb10 to playbook it may cause playbook owners to either delay or not purchase a phone????
Mr Alec Saunders you know we are on the second month of the year , we are on february and you said "later this year", that means maybe after 11 months? You should say after a year minus a month.
Sorry cant wait more, going to switch to windows 8 soon
I don't think there are enough current playbook owners or Playbooks themselves to have them hold back for worries about the phone sales t. If they threw 10 t over to Playbook ASAP they would sell more app movies games etc for virtually no extra cost.
I see you're a glass half-full kind'a guy? :)
Yup. I guess even an 11-month bounded window is better than the previous vague OS update announcements. "Right around the corner" was my personal favourite. :)
Great. See ya. I'm sticking with my OS2.1 which works really well. Before you go, please tell us what BB10 on Playbook will give you that you don't have now?
It's coming SOON [sorry, I just could not help myself!] :rotfl:
I was waiting for a next generation of OS, more flexible and more options, but i think after some months it will be old, maybe we can have windows 9 or the next ipad
I've gone from loving phones to loving tablets. My 9900 gets used to guess what make phone calls. It really wouldn't get touched much if it wasn't for me using whatsapp and BBM groups. OS10 on the playbook is expecting to have a full BBM experience along with Skype and whatsapp. I would much rather buy a LTE PlayBook running OS10 first then a phone later once the holiday sales roll around. With that being said I'm not 100% committed to buying a Q10 at launch.
Only problem with bbm on playbook is possibility to miss messages. Hope it is a mirror copy of the phone. Who wants two bbm id's.
We will miss you and all your 40 posts. Hope you enjoy your new device.
As much as I agree that he could have picked better words for his reply, there is really nothing new here. Later this year can be Dec/13 as well as Feb 1st...
As for mashing the OS update... I'm sure it will be all over twitter, facebook, blogs and forums when it hits. No need to stress out....
who the **** is Alec Saunders?
Have you been living under a rock?
He's the Prime Minister of Canada
He is
VP of Developer Relations and Ecosystem Development at RIM
Wasn't she on Absolutely Fabulous?
later this year means the second half of the year, so after the summer
looks like when all the old PB are sold out than a newer version will come out with BB10 installed, think about October to sell for the holiday season
with an option for the old PB can upgrade to BB10
again delays, and delays - we waited now one year for OS10
introduction of OS10 Z phone end of January, but you can not get the phone until middle of march here in the US
Q10 in April
but big advertisement during superball
they have not figured out how to run PB with OS10 to be bridged with a BB Phone running 7,1
just internet, but not the other apps, and some phone remote control
Current PB owners are not their priority
they need to sell Z10 and Q10 phones
meanwhile our beloved PB will be a cutting board to serve cheese on
my BB phone contract ends in July, this will be my decision date, and / or moving-on day
and it looks like a windows 8 phone and win8 tablet now
Is that Win 8 RT or Win 8 Pro? The Pro sounds nice but I can buy PBs for the whole family (6 of us) for less than one Win8Pro tablet.
Lol later this year maybe its dec 25?
