had this problem. it only occurred when i would open a website from another app. such as opening a full article from the news feed app. i ended up reloading the os cause it was annoying me.
That brings up a point - has anyone noticed that private browsing is not really private and clearing history does not really clear history? Despite my best efforts it keeps bringing up that porn site I was forced to visit once by the PlayBook, everytime I open the browser.
It's embarrassing when I have to look up something in my boss's office - or when my nephews want to play need for speed...And it's not even bookmarked! After clearing the history all of the tabs I recently used are still there...showing exactly where I have been despite being in private mode the whole time..this has endured even through upgrades. Some privacy!
Whats the porn site? I think it's called crack something ... oh crackberry that's it....

Turn private browsing on, turn "accept cookies" off. Delete all history with the "clear all" option. Close the browser. Reboot the Playbook. Failing that, re-install the OS.
What I just said...in private mode, cookies disabled, clear history, set "for a new page show" to "My homepage" - homepage set to "blackberry.com". Close browser, open browser... what does it open to? crackberry.com where I just was. Bring down tabs - they are all right there showing where I have been - this is history clearing and private browsing? What a joke lol. A cruel cruel joke....

Call customer support, they probably will ask you what websites you were visiting....and try those sites on the the playbook they have on site.....they will have to try numerous times so the website could stick to the PB.
Trying clearing cache, cookies, history and all that jazz. If not, hard reset with all the top buttons pressed. If not....
It seems I keep recommending this to people because it works for me for any problem lol....but a security wipe will fix it. Back up your stuff first on a computer. It took me less than 15 minutes for me to get back up and running with a wifi connection. All the apps can be reinstalled. If you think its worth the hassle, it'll definitely fix your "naughty" playbook.
Isn't there a remember previous tabs setting somewhere (don't have my PB with me) in settings. Causes the browser to open with tabs you were last on or something...
Although would have thought clearing the cache would prevent this...
?
try to surf on Christian sites... it may break the "spell"...
this may be good sound advice.. but you may feel the urge to go door to door after and try to get people to convert to unthinking...naw... just flush the cache and reload the os once per month ad keep surfing

Let me continue what you have said.
.........just flush the cache and reload the os once per month ad keep surfing "NORMAL websites" not adult ones
May not break the spell, but I'm all for surfing Christian sites!
That's good for you... unfortunately I have experienced too many people in my life that wear their "Christianity" on their sleeves to cover their evil deeds. I go with "by their fruits shall you know them" rather than what comes out of their mouths or fingers...
Now that I think of it after reading some of these posts, it COULD be an app you installed taking advantage of the flash integration of the QNX OS, kind of like how some of the BB apps sends you spam because it can access your perosonal email account.
BTW if it's something unsafe I have to or want to look at, I do it on Linux, nothing can touch that OS.
you're not using some proxy server by chance are you? check your internet settings and clear it out if there is one. I've witnessed nasty PC viruses that will change proxy settings before that I've had to help people clear out. just a thought.
This all reminds me of a virus I got a few years ago. I think it was called "apple heebie" something like that. It worked on many levels, but one thing it did (amongst many) is change the URLs of your typed URLs to different sites i.e. shopping, porn, sports. For example if you were browsing and decided to go to google.com it would send you to another site. There was a list of these changes in one of the folders within the sys32 folder. That folder is normally empty. Maybe this is a related deal. Its worth looking into.
