I have a BlackBerry 64G Playbook and baught online ebooks and it cannot read the .acsm file format.
Does anybody know of an application that wil read this file format?

You need to get an Adobe ID if you do not already have one. If need be, you can sign up for an Adobe ID from within Overdrive. Normally, you download the .acsm file directly from the source using Overdrive and you do not even see the file. It just opens in the app as another book. You may find the following link useful:

You can also use Adobe Digital Editions, this will convert the ascm file into epub format.
