Access multimedia hard drive
Hello all,
I have a lot of movies and series on a harddrive connected to my tower computer.
I'd like to access them from my Playbook, so I could watch without having to copy the files to my playbook.
I generally use MovieSrtPlayer as I watch them with Portuguese subtitles.
Is there any any way of accessing the files if the Playbook and the Pc are in the same wireless network?
Re: Access multimedia hard drive
Yes, although I doubt that you'll be able to stream to MovieSrtPlayer. You'll need an app to do it, StreamingNow, Splashtop, LAN File Explorer, ES File Explorer and probably a few others.

Thanks!
For what I see StreamingNow seems to do what I want!
Re: Access multimedia hard drive
I've recently stumbled upon X-Plore which seems to do a great job of starting videos from my network drive - even mkv files. I believe it will also open pictures and music, but I haven't tried them yet.
Re: Access multimedia hard drive
How about using Slashtop and accessing the whole PC altogether?

I use StreamingNow. It works very well.
I don't use subtitles though.

Yeah. X-Plore is another one, and it will also stream music and open pics. In fact, I started a thread about it a couple of weeks ago along with a link to a working bar file, since finding a working version of X-Plore was not so easy. The thread is here- http://forums.crackberry.com/playboo...plorer-747732/
