I have been unhappy with Sprint/Android for 14 months now...I am now going back to BB and plan to sign with AT&T with a BB9900 and a PB. I am going to have my IT dept install a BESx server to run along side my MS Exchange server.
Are there any issues with the PB 2.0 and the 9900 using the rroyy bridge?
I planned to do this a month ago before 2.0 came out...just want to make sure i can bridge with AT&T and the rroyy OTA bridge without paying for the $50/month plan from AT&T
Only one problem I can think of. If you are married, your wife will yell at you a lot to "Put that *#@$ thing down!!!"
BTW, Why, in the name of all that's holy, would you go to att? Oh well, I guess if you have really deeeeeeeeeeep pockets, they will be more than happy to suck every last dime out of them.
Welcome back to the BB family. For all us faithful crackberry users. Our patience has paid off and the new OS update has to have Apple drooling with envy. To be able to control your Playbook with your phone as a mouse is simply genius
The combination of the Bold 9900 and PlayBook is awesome!!! No problems with the Bridge app from rroyy...works like a champ. I've been with AT&T for 21 years. It is no better or worse than the competition. They all suck in my opinion....I'm use to dealing with AT&T and I really don't have the time or patience to get acquainted with another providers issues. From what I read on this forum every provider gets bashed for one reason or another...just sayin.

If you intend to manage the BlackBerry PlayBook in a manner similar to BlackBerry smartphone management when activated on BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, you will need to sign-up for the BlackBerry Mobile Fusion trial and require a separate server or virtual machine.
The issue you will have is battery life on BB 9900. If I don't use Bridge at all during the day, my Bold battery lasts 1 to 1,5 days with moderate use.
If I switch Bluetooth +Bridge on and leave it like this permanently with the Playbook in vicinity, it doesn't last one day.
Will see what OS 7.1 brings in terms of battery improvements
No issues with battery life due to bridge...I'm running the latest leaked 7.1
That's good to hear.
Problem is not to keep Bridge or Bluetooth enabled on the BB 9900. Problem is if the BB and Playbook are close one to each other, this keeps Bluetooth active on the Bold hence consumes battery.
You can have Bluetooth and Bridge enabled on the 9900 and if you leave your Playbook at home, nothing will drain your batteery on the Bold.
Check with your IT people to ensure your office has a version of BES capable of running the Playbook. I have the Bold / Playbook combo and everything's great, but my office's BES version makes email attachments a problem per this post.
Was at T-Mobile today looking at some Blackberrys. T-Mobile is crazy. They want $299 (after rebate) for the 9900 and $249(after rebate) for the 9810. lmao Guess I'll have to settle for the 9360 which is $79(after rebate). smh
$299 might be ok for the 9900 but my friend is getting upgraded to the 9810 on AT&T for only $49. lol WTF T-Mobile?
