I signed up when it said 6 months trial and can't log in anymore. It either says my password is incorrect (it isn't) or "can't log in due to technical difficulties." Did they make a mistake in how much they were giving away and change it?

They have changed it to 7 days. I imagine when they are telling you your password is wrong or there is technical difficulties that it is their way of not letting you gain service without admitting fault. I think they made a mistake giving 6 months and they are trying to worm out of as many as possible.
This is so typical of this company. I bought a vehicle with a 6 month free trial and after extending it at a discounted price for 3 months, I decided to cancel it. They put me on eternal hold, then I had to talk to a "rescue rep" who offered me all kinds of deals and when I kept saying no, was mysteriously cut off. When I tried to re initiate the process it was like they had never been informed I wanted to cancel. Then my CC was billed and after a lot of calls, got it cancelled and reimbursed. Now get this-I still have the service even though I'm not paying for it and they keep sending me special offers to reinstate it. Sometimes they call and ask for me and I say "Just a minute, I'll get him" and then set the phone down until they hang up which once was over 1/2 hour. To make matters worse, the only person whose English I can understand is the rescue rep. Everyone else I talk to obviously does not use English as their first or perhaps even their second language. I doubt you would get anywhere talking to them about this problem because this company is truly screwed.
Last I checked they had no plans for an app that worked on Bold 9900. I loved my Sirius but when I switched from my Bold 9700 (which did have an app), I had to find an alternative. For music, I've really enjoyed Slacker Radio.
