This back and forth with the price will damage this incarnation of the PB. I'm now more convinced that they are scrapping this model and moving to the 3g version as posted yesterday and are looking to just unload whatever inventory is left. They've already written it down on the books.

They either don't realize that all this back and forth with pricing is dangerous for a new product, or they just don't give a d@MN.

    Very frustrating company to follow.

I disagree....just look at what a simple promo code did last night for PB sales. But that's OK, one may find that venting from time to time keeps one from turning into scrambled eggs.

    Do you feel better?

That may be, but the goal is to sell product without needing promo codes.

I thought the 299 price was until Feb 4th? I hope so, I plan on picking up a 64 GB middle of next week

Nope, they changed that date on their website to 1-28-12 just the other day without explaination.

They $299 price for the all models was to get people to spend another 100 bucks that they probably would not have if the prices were 199 for the 16. I bet that the 64 gig are in short supply now and now they are hoping to unload the rest of the lower end.

299 for all models is a no brainer - people will opt for the larger storage model - 64GB. This is what has happened locally at stores near me - I had to hunt one down and eventually got the last one at a Wal-Mart.

Now people may opt for the 16/32GB models instead since they are not the same price as the 64GB.

It could be an error, but i've noticed that both Best Buy and Future Shop's websites are no longer listing this as a discounted/sale price... They're showing $199/$249/$299 as the new regular price.
