If I'm buying today, I know more memory is better. But for those watching their coin...

What will I miss if I get the 16GB ? If you have the 16GB, are you happy with it? What can't you do - or what gives you trouble?

Is the 32GB the safe bet - no limits today and some room for the future?

Depends. Do you have a collection of music, movies. and pictures? I have a 64gb and I only have 2.6gb left.

I can't wait till they start putting terabyte drives in these things.

I have a 16gb and am hoping the PB goes on sale down here in Aus! Would definitely grab a 32gb and give this one to my girlfriend. Mine has started to fill up with photos, comics, music etc.

had a 16, took it back cause it was too small. got 64 at staples 50% off sale, price made it right choice. have plenty of music and pics, plus my 19 month old son to take more pics and videos of to fill it up.

I for one am fine with my 16GB. I use my BB for music on the train and while walking the dog, PB is a bit big for that kind of duty. I use my PB for browsing, gaming, watching movies. And since I don't re-watch things I just delete them after I watch it, so I haven't really needed the extra space. I'm very happy I got my PB for the same price I paid for my Nook Color (which of course isn't used now that I have my PB...hehe...)

i went with the 16gb (a few days ago): thought of the 32gb but for what I bought it for even 16gb is overkill + I can use the extra (100-200) to buy the newer model if and when it comes out as opposed to using it to buy the 32gb or 64gb of the current model.

I'm a total newb, but did a lot of research before buying the PB. I got the 32, and after having it only 2 days and loading apps, music, photos and video I'm glad I did. You can't always access the cloud (i.e. in an airplane), so I like to have the information stored on my device.

As has been quoted many times and what sold me on getting the 32, is you'll never hear someone say, "I wish I had got the lower gigabyte one." But you will hear the opposite.

Really digging the PB so far!

I have a 32GB and 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook. I bought the 32GB tablet pre-release and with the recent sale prices decided to purchase a 16GB tablet as well. The 16GB tablet will be my professional-use tablet bridged to my BlackBerry Bold 9780 with a 32GB microSD card for storage for documents. The 32GB tablet will be my personal-use tablet which will be used for entertainment (reading, movies, music, etc.) at home and in the car.

I got the 64 GB after Staples price drop at Best Buy who price-matched last week before Best Buy dropped their price $200. Stiil got a deal with Best Buy Reward Zone certificates. I use my PB more than my 9810.

    I have a 16GB PB, and I'd like a 64GB PB... but I don't need a 64GB PB.

There's enough space on the 16GB PB for a couple of movies-to-go and that's my only consumer of huge memory. E-books are tiny, I don't keep a lot of photos on the PB, and my music resides on my 160GB iPod (sorry! ).

So the 16GB is enough for me and until the price cuts spread across the Atlantic to Treasure Island there is no incentive for me to buy the 32 or 64GB unit. [Are you reading this RIM? C'mon guys!]

Both my wife and I have 32Gb PlayBooks. Not too small and not too big. Just the right size. If I start loading movies, I will add a 500Gb Seagate Satellite wifi hard drive later.

Go for 64. You can't have enough storage. I have the 64 and have a ton of music on it. My friend has the 16 and has to juggle the music on hers.

I think $200 is a bit steep for the extra memory... but I don't store a lot of movies, music etc. Got the 16g and it's fine for me. If I run out it just means its cleanup time. I figured if another PB comes out, or I want to go 4G or LTE, I will have wasted that $200.

Just like anything you buy in this world - it depends on your wants and needs.

if you want to download and save movies, masses of RAW pictures or large JPEGS, etc then go with more storage 64GB. Myself, I just browse the web, save occasional pictures, use it for large screen bbm, etc. I have the 16GB and it is fine for me.

If you don't know what you want - it probably means you don't have large storage needs in mind - so go with the 16GB

Exactly like everyone says, it all depends on your needs. I pre-ordered the 32gb, i use it for work. I have all my companies schematics, wireing diagrams, and instrumentation documents on it. I also have a few 1080 videos i recorded both pleasure and work related. i haven't downloaded any movies or music to it (YET), but not saying i wont. For me the 64gb was to big and the 16gb wasnt big enough, or at least i didnt think it would be. However, with all my stuff on there plus apps, i havent even hit 10gb yet.

Thanks to all so far for great feedback and insight, instead of just the expected "buy big" response. It helps. Also liked the extra storage ideas - though may not be for everyone. FYI -- So far, the tally says...
    8 prefer 16GB
    8 prefer 32GB
    6 prefer 64GB
...with only a small few not satisfied with their purchase choice.
Surprisingly, unless the feedback changes, it says we are all in equal thirds when it comes to preferences. Wonder if that matches the actual PB sales figures?

Great thought. With micro SD cards so cheap and small (<$50) - why doesn't the Playbook include a couple slots for them? What am I missing? They might be slow, but...

If you can afford it and don't really have a need to spend the money elsewhere just get the 64gb.

If not, then allocate and prioritise as needed . . .
