Rumors of new 7" Playbook in April and 10" Playbook in December. Wonder if it makes sense to keep collecting current Playbooks or even the current sale-priced 64 Playbook given this news (if you already own one).
yeah 7 inches is perfect, surprisingly. The only use I see for the 10 inch would be for home use, not really portable. A 10 inch screen isnt much smaller than my 14 inch laptop screen so what is the point.
I prefer the current size. Only modification I'll made at it has been discussed before is reducing the bezel size to have more real estate. By going bigger they are going to compete or be compared to the ipad, that like it or not is the best selling tablet so far. Just stay with the current size and the price right ad that'll make it for me.
I think RIM should consider 9" instead of 10". That 1" difference might make a difference whether people will leave their PB at home or take it with them.
I don't think I would have bit on the playbook if it wasn't sold at the discount it's at now. I'm sure I'm not the only one in that boat. The next iteration would have to be a tremendous improvement at a better price point if it has any hope of co-existing with the ipad.
10" PB makes sense for an enterprise market. I have said many times 7" form factor, while very portable and convenient, is also limiting factor to penetrate into enterprise market.

RIM promised OS 2.0 last October and moved it to February 2012. They promised BB10 in February and have moved it to the end of 2012. I would say the rumors are nothing more than Vaporware. The Playbook can't stay relevant based on its history of broken promises.
RIM can barely sell the Playbook now and nobody knows if OS 2.0 will improve their financial situation. RIM's management would have to be complete morons to promise two new products at this time.
RIM has no credibility in my opinion. They need to focus on the here and now because if they don't, there will be no tomorrow!
